Pioneering technology for the planet since 2009.
With his considerable technical experience spanning from software to semiconductors, SolarPod founder, Mouli Vaidyanathan started his business, Mouli Engineering, selling modular ground mounted DIY systems and installing conventional solar systems. Though he was moved by the industry’s potential to promote clean energy, he immediately realized these traditional systems and their methods of installation may be doing more harm than good. From the raw materials they consumed to the damage they inflicted to the structures on which they were installed, these systems needed a serious overhaul in order to provide real benefit to the planet.
Mouli set to work developing and patenting a racking system that used less harmful materials and required no drill holes, even finding a willing friend to serve as his initial test case. From this proof of concept, SolarPod has grown to represent the gold standard in solar technology. With over 1000 installations completed today: flat roofs, sloped roofs, residential homes, commercial properties, SolarPod has done it all. Z-Rack’s simplicity and elegance make it the perfect partner for your solar project of any size. SolarPod continues to challenge the industry status quo by improving environmental impact while bringing their customers elegant, non-invasive solutions. It’s revolutionary solar, made radically simple.
Lastly, we’re proud to partner with OneTreePlanted so that every product purchased in our shop (even the recycled material hats and t-shirts) plants one tree in support of the reclamation of urban canopies.
We hope you’ll find as much joy and fulfillment in your solar project as our team does.
PhD, PE, Master Electrician, Mouli has over 25 years of engineering experience in state of the art solar, semiconductor yield engineering, failure analysis, and product design. He earned his doctorate at University of Wisconsin-Madison in Metallurgical Engineering, with his undergrad degree in production engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy. Both degrees were attained with full scholarships.
Committed to making a positive impact for the future, Ivan was thrilled to join SolarPod and help implement engineering solutions to power our communities with solar. Originally hailing from Illinois, Ivan completed his undergraduate studies in engineering at Augustana College. When he’s not working on solar-related projects, Ivan enjoys playing guitar and spending time outdoors.
Josh is a recent graduate from the University of St. Thomas in Mechanical Engineering who is eager to learn the ins and the outs of the growing solar industry. He is starting full-time at SolarPod and is excited to help home/business owners migrate to a renewable and more sustainable method of energy consumption. Roll Tommies!
